Type Locality and Naming

Northeast Hubei border to Henan. The Hong'an Gr was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Hubei Bureau of Geology in 1975. The type section is located in Hongan County and Dawu County, Hubei Province.

Synonym: （红安群）, Wudang Gr, Susong Gr, Susong phosphatic schist series, Qiliping Fm, Gaoqiaohe Fm, Jieling Fm, Xinxian Fm. Huangmaolao Fm, Caihe Fm, Quanshuisi Fm are regarded as the different names of the Hong'an Gr


Lithology and Thickness

The Hong'an Gr was subdivided into four formations: Huangmailing Fm, Tiantaishan Fm, Qijiaoshan Fm and Ta'ergang Fm. For details, see the descriptions of those respective formations.

Lower contact

It has a conformable contact with Dabieshan Gr.
